I am a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Biology Centre of the Czech Academy of Sciences. I work with Dr. Jan Hrček on the eco-evolutionary dynamics of host-parasitoid interactions.

My research uses experimental approaches to help address broad evolutionary and ecological questions about how individuals, populations and communities respond to environmental change. I work with insects to do this (more on why they're amazing). I have worked on adaptive and maladaptive phenotypic responses that occur across a range of time-scales (e.g. within-generation behavioural responses and longer-term evolutionary responses). Ultimately, this distinction of time-scales is useful, but arbitrary.

As part of an earlier project, I worked on evolutionary rescue - a specific case of rapid adaptive evolution occurring in just a few generations - where ecological and evolutionary processes co-occur. Going forward, I plan to use integrative approaches to understand eco-evolutionary feedbacks in a multitrophic community.
I received my PhD in evolutionary biology and behavioural ecology at the National Centre for Biological Sciences in Bangalore, India, with Dr. Deepa Agashe. I was born in West Bengal and raised in New Delhi. I currently live in České Budějovice, the capital of South Bohemia - perhaps most famous for being the birthplace of the original Bohemian Budweiser beer.

My other interests include writing about science and exploring how performance art can be harnessed to communicate and teach (e.g., improvisational theatre and humour).

Science can only get better with communication! I'm happy to hear from you via email, or any of the platforms linked in the panel to the left.
